Fair / County Supervisors
Hans
Fair 4-H petting zoo
Evelyn McGarry
What everyone wants to do - there may be a charge for the "vendor's space" at the fair. Why, though, since it is just the Youth Fair, not the County Fair. How many general public attendees are expected?
Hans described how the Supervisors need to be shown that the 4-H and FFA can put on a Youth Fair. 4-H is the only program that makes projects available to youth that feature livestock. We need the Fair to provide the "marketplace" for the Junior Livestock Auction.
Discussion about how the fairgrounds property is a potential "gold mine" for the county if it is sold.
How the petting zoo ties together with the highlighting of the program was discussed.
Suggestion was made to get open competitions for the various breeds - rabbits, cavies, dogs, etc.
Need a brainstorming session on how to make Fair good for 4-H
