President's report:
Club visits: every single club has been visited. Oakwood is back from the brink of being closed. It is growing.
State Leaders Forum - this weekend.
C.A.L. conference: apps are due Nov. 16. Each county is allowed 15 attendees. If more than 15 want to go, they can get on a waiting list. If not all counties use their 15 slots, the others with waiting lists can add more. Adults are encouraged to be chaperones. Walker Creek Ranch.
County 4-H Summer Camp: again at Camp Hidden Falls. Staff Apps will be due in January. Look for them on the web site.
Treasurer report: Peer review committee needed for review of the books. Joey Gadd, Rachel Coe as the youth, Jim Fritz and Jan Carey.
Oct. input and output was reported.
VP report: Calaveras Hills provided the snacks. Thanks! A signup for club presentations and snacks will be sent around. Calendar events are requested to be put on the county SCC4H yahoo group. A request was made to add State events to our calendar to ensure that the conflicts are minimized.
Corresponding Secretary: Thank You note from Amanda Smith for her $500 scholarship from Council.

Leadership Overnight: $110; looking for staff members. Ice Skating this Saturday.
Planning a dance.
Teen leaders for the floor arranging project: county-wide. First meeting last month. A flyer was passed around to describe the project. Asking Council $150 to get the project started. Floors are kind of expensive. Planning on donating the arrangements to Vets home. A comment was made to contact Jan Carey for some pointers on where to get some flowers.
Motion to give them $150, seconded. Motion passed on voice vote. No discussion.
Gabe Collins came to thank Council for the scholarship that was extended to him to attend Camp last year.
Sectional council report: Youth worked on the Linus Project blankets. Snow Camp is being planned. Other plans are on-going.
Hans: Large Animal Forum and planning in mid-Jan. Hans is asking for up to $500 primarily to provide food for those that come.
Motion to provide up to $500 for this effort. Seconded. Motion carried on Voice vote.
Hans has spent a lot of time re-writing the Large animal seciton of the Fair book. He and the chairs of the various species have spent a lot of time reviewing his effort, and it will be published soon.
Martial Cottal Farm site: Hans is working on the committee to help form this site. On-going process to develop this site.
Small Animal Large/Small Field Day april 26
Family Science: Fashion Revu/Design Contest: April 12 Ramazanys have taken over the FRDC.
Lora Carey: Horiculture proficiencies are on the web. State 4-H office is looking for a staff person who would coordinate horiculture activities.
Achievement night: Winners will be announced in the December TT. Record Book awards. A level of 80% attendance at club and project meetings will be a new requirement to the judging of books.
Proficiency levels will be awarded by the county.
Fe: Leadership opportunity for Teens - $20K from the 4-H Foundation to do this. Youth-lead community forum: Sophomore and Juniors Jan 4-5 at Walden West. Training process. Some of the issues to be presented will be "Youth Violence". The training will be how to lead public discussions on establishing common ground even though they have opposing views on the subject.
Deborah Lang: International Exchange info on ca4h.org. Other info was sent around. like "When youth turn to you for help in time of crisis".
Roles and responsibilities of running a club. How to break up the job into bite-sized chunks. Lets more people do the jobs necessary, without overly burdening one person.
State-wide record book training. Available on the website. Feb 23 to the training in Davis.
Camp training available at the State-level. Make camp physically and emotionally safe. In April near Yosemite.
Curriculum order
San Diego fire victims who are 4-H families are best supported by the groups highlighted on the state website.
Presentation Day: Westhope is asking for $70/hr. Looking into alternatives. Sarah P. offered to check into her church. Deborah and Fe suggested using this building.
Fair and Supervisors: still in waiting mode.
The scc4H.org subscription site motion passed, and the site will be created for the non-4-H public to sign-up to receive notices of our events or possible news releases for our county.
Because Estela completed her search and can do it, thanks much in part to Steven Worker, she can place the subscription on the website. She has agreed to maintain it. Jan Carey is asking that this meeting reflect our approval for Estela's extreme dedication and hard work so that it may be recorded that she has given so much to our 4-H to accomplish this additional task for 4-H.
Motion to add a subscription page to the website. Seconded. Passed on voice vote with one abstention.
Archery project has successfully submitted its application for the Dean Memorial Fund money to get the reuseable targets.
